4.BCA Courses

The College is running professional course of Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA). There are 30 seats in the course and the admission is granted to one who has obtained at least 45% of the aggregate marks (40% Marks for SC/ST candidates) in 10+2 Exams (with or without Mathematics).


The admission is made directly by the College Admission Committee on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in 10+2 Exams.

Compulsory Course In Environmental Studies:

The College has a compulsory course in Environmental studies for all students of B.Part-II as an additional subject consisting of a paper of 100 marks. The purpose of the introduction of the said course in Environmental Studies for all students is to make them aware of the various aspects of the environmental issues for their proper understanding, protection and preservation


Post Graduate Courses:
1. Master of Computer Application (MCA)

This course is running in this college since 2004-05.


A total numbers of 19 seats are allotted to this College out of which 9 seats are reserved for candidates belonging to different categories.


There are also two payment seats each costing rupees two lakhs apart from the above mentioned seats.

2. Master of Science in Chemistry (M.Sc.)

The College is running postgraduate course in Chemistry since 2004-05 and the new feathers are expected to be added to the prestigious course.


There are 20 seats of which 10 seats are reserved for candidates belonging to different categories.


There are also 5 payment seats each costing rupees two lacs apart from the above mentioned seats.

Addmission Schedule & Procedure:

The selection is made through a common entrance test (JUET) conducted by the University of Jammu.

The University announces its schedule every year and published in daily news papers and displayed on the university website www.jammuuniversity.in.

Main Objectives

IGNOU has been able to launch more than 200 academic & professional programmes including programmes on Rural Development, Tourism, Computer Education. BPP,BA,B.Sc,B.Com.,BSW,B.Ed., M.A. English, M.A. Hindi, M.A. Pol.Sc., M.A. History, M.A. Pub. Adm. & M.Com., M.A. Sociology, M.A. Economics, M.A. Rural Development, M.A. Tourism Management, M.A. Library Science, M.A. Education, M.A. Mathematics, M.A. Psychology, M. A. Philosophy. Ph.D. in History, Political Science, Economics, Sociology & Public Administration has also been launched by IGNOU.


Most of these programmes are available in English as well as Hindi medium. Any graduate (even 10+2+2) can seek admission in M.A. English even if he had not opted/studied English Literature at under-graduate level.


Students having passed ADEEB-E-KAMIL are also eligible to join M.A. programmes, Diploma in Rural Development & B.Ed.


There is one special programme for drop-outs. It is BPP. Those who left their formal education after class 5th, 8th or 10th or never had any schooling but are not less than 18 years of age can join BPP programme of IGNOU. After qualifying it they can seek admission in B.A., B.Com., BTS, BSW and can become graduates of a National University.

Add On Courses

Objectives :

The objective of these courses is to enable the students to have an additional qualification by the time they become graduates.

The college is running two Add-On-Courses:
  • Namely Functional English
  • E-Journalism
    • Certificate course at the end of first academic session.
    • Diploma course at the end of second academic session.
    • Advance Diploma course at the end of third academic session.
The admission fees fixed for :
  • Functional English will be = Rs. 1500/- P.A.
  • b) E-Journalism = Rs. 2000/- P.A.
